A step on from the original iconic green shade, DuraOcean® chairs are now available in a chic black colourway as part of a wider dining collection, capitalising on the current trend for monochrome looks.
Since its launch in 2019, the DuraOcean® chair has been setting the standard for environmental responsibility and innovation within the outdoor leisure sector, turning harmful plastic waste into stylish seating. Made from recycled ropes from the maritime industry, the unique chair takes its original teal green shade from the industrial ropes used to create it.
However, as DuraOcean® embarks on its next chapter, we are delighted to now also be able to offer the popular range in slatted matt black chair as part of its Panama Collection; broadening its appeal and remaining fashion-forward to complement an array of décor schemes.
The new generation of DuraOcean® is available in a number of different configurations, providing consumers with a range of choices to meet budgets and different garden sizes and styles. From a two-seater bistro set incorporating the new slatted chair design, the range will also feature an additional bistro set which will include a new high-backed, padded chair design. The range will also comprise four, six and eight-seater dining sets, the latter two also coming complete with two recliner chairs.
Not only do these innovative DuraOcean® chairs look great but they also form an important part of the circular economy. Every chair sold is responsible for removing waste 3.5kg of maritime ropes which would otherwise be causing insurmountable damage to the many lifeforms that call the ocean home. Since its launch the DuraOcean® has helped to prevent over 150,000 kilograms of plastic from polluting our oceans, and in 2021 we will continue to focus on product ranges that utilise sustainable materials. The pioneering furniture is also cleverly designed for full disassembly, so it can be easily recycled at the end of its life.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, DuraOcean® chairs are hard wearing and UV resistant, so those gorgeous new colours won’t fade or deteriorate over time. The chairs are available to buy as a pair or as part of a bistro or four-seater dining set, complete with matching table made from the same sustainably-grown Brazilian FSC-Eucalyptus that has been used to craft the chair’s legs.
